Welcome to Kontrol's Subsonic Music Server!

Subsonic is a brand of music server, hosted on my PC.

If you're using a device with a larger screen (desktop/laptop), login below to use the Subsonic web browser interface. Note that the browser interface is NOT optimized for smaller phone screens.

For best experience use the Substreamer app on Android/Apple phones.
A list of other supported devices/apps at https://www.subsonic.org/pages/apps.jsp I tried several. Substreamer works best.

-Substreamer App installation instructions:
First time you open Substreamer, it will ask you for Protocol/Server address and of course your Username/Password.
-For Protocol, choose HTTPS
-For Server Address, enter kontrol.kozow.com
If all goes well, Substreamer should start "fetching data" for at most a minute (5G connection). Before hitting play, check these settings…

-Substreamer App Settings:
--- Display & Battery section:
-Keep Screen Alive: (your choice) ON-keeps Substreamer screen on, OFF-lock screen engages as normal
--- Streaming & Storage section:
-Auto Cache: Next 5 songs This is important, so that if I reboot my PC, your playback is less likely to be impacted.
-Stream Format and -Cache Format: Original I use mostly high quality, lossless flac files for superior fidelity.
---Android Permissions:
-Ignore Battery Optimizations: ON

-Then choose a playlist. The 2024-to-2022kollections list randomizes everything from 2024 back to 2022, and will take a minute or two to load (over a 5G connection). Don't panic while it is "fetching data", it will be worth a short wait. The 2024kollection playlist takes about 30 seconds to load.

Bugs:
Substreamer app displays wrong album art for some tracks.
